Microdermabrasion is an elective cosmetic procedure that can help diminish the appearance of the hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, sun damage and other skin conditions.

If choosing Microdermabrasion treatment, it is recommended to have 4 or more sessions in order to achieve the best results.

What to EXPECT FROM Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion abrades away epidermal tissue in the areas treated which can in many cases cause the wrinkles to appear less noticeable and skin appears smoother.

Possible Risk and Side Effects

After a treatment, the skin may feel tight, as if exposed to the sun or wind and the treatment may cause some skin irritation.  However, most side effects are temporary and generally subside within 72 hours.

Possible side effects include, but are not limited to:

• Slight to extreme redness
• Swelling
• Stinging and/or tenderness
• Bruising
• Dry or Flaking Skin
• Lightening of Darkening of the Skin
• If the skin barrier is broken during treatment, there is a slight risk of bacterial or viral infection.
• Healing may take several days or longer

After Treatment Home Care:

• Do not use Glycolic, AHA's or any Retinol products 72 hours before or after treatments
• Do not use suntan beds for at least 2 weeks before the treatment.  (Suntan bed use is not recommended for skin health)
• Protect treated area from sun exposure by using a moisturizing sun block of SPF30 or higher
• Avoid swimming or situations of prolonged sun exposure for at least 1 week
• Do not apply make-up for at least 12 hours after treatment.  
• Exercise should be limited after the treatment for 24 hours
• Keep area clean and moisturized
